Terms
1. Who we are and what this site is
CountdownCareer (“we”, “us”) runs www.countdowncareer.com. It is a free, information-only website that lists deadlines for exams, university admissions, government jobs, scholarships and student loans in Pakistan, and links each one to the official page it came from. Using the site means you accept these terms. This is an agreement made electronically, which the law of Pakistan accepts (Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002). If you do not accept the terms, please do not use the site.
2. We are not the issuer, and this is not official
We are not Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, British Council, HEC, any university, examination board, job body or government office, and none of them endorses us. Their names appear only to say whose deadline a date is. Every date belongs to the organisation that set it, and that organisation can change it at any time without telling us.
3. The most important thing on this page
Always check the official source before you act. Every date links to the exact page it came from. A date here can be out of date or wrong, even though we read it off the issuer’s own page.
So, as far as the law allows: we are not responsible for a deadline you miss, a fee you pay late, an application or exam entry that does not go through, or any other loss that comes from relying on this site instead of the issuer’s own page. This site is a reminder. The issuer is the authority.
4. No warranty
The site is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will always be available, correct or complete. We may change, pause or stop it at any time.
5. Using the site
You may use CountdownCareer freely for your own planning, and you may share links to it. Do not use it to break the law in Pakistan. For example, hacking or attacking the site is a crime under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (as amended). Do not send so many automated requests that it stops working for students. If you want the data for a project, ask us first.
6. What belongs to whom
The dates are facts published by the issuers, and we claim no ownership of them. The wording, design, crane mark and code of this site belong to us and are protected under Pakistan’s Copyright Ordinance, 1962. Please do not copy the site as a whole. The typefaces, Young Serif and Instrument Sans, are used under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1.
7. Links to other sites
Source links and ads take you to websites we do not run. We are not responsible for what is on them or for what they do with your visit.
8. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The current version is always on this page.
9. Date alerts by email
Date alerts are optional and free. We send them when dates are added or change, and we may pause or stop them at any time. An alert is a reminder, like the rest of the site. Every alert has a link to stop them. How we handle your email is on the Privacy page.
10. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and any dispute about them is for the courts of Pakistan. If you have a problem, please write to us first. Most problems are quicker to fix that way.
11. Contact
For wrong dates, complaints and legal notices, email hello@countdowncareer.com.
Date checks
What every date must have
Six things. If even one is missing, we drop the date. We never guess a date or copy last year’s.
- Issuer — who set the date (a board, a university, a government body).
- Programme — what it is for (for example, A Level entries).
- Step — opens, closes, test day or result.
- The date itself — or “No fixed deadline” when the issuer sets none.
- The exact page link — the page itself, not the homepage.
- The page’s own words that show that date.
How a date goes live
- We find it on the issuer’s own website. Not on WhatsApp, blogs, coaching sites or the news.
- We open that page and check that the same day is written there. For a picture or a scan we read it by eye, and for the others we compare the page’s own words. If the day is not there, the date is not shown. For a scheme with no deadline, we check that the page still says how to apply.
- A robot re-reads the official pages every few days. If the page’s own words are gone, or a PDF or picture has changed, it tells us, and we check the date again. It does not change or hide a date by itself, so a date can be out of date for a few days.
- A few sites, such as British Council, do not let automatic readers in. We read those pages in an ordinary web browser.
Ads
When ads are on, they will include Google ads and spots sold directly to sponsors. Ads never change, hide or reorder a date. An ad is not our advice or endorsement. What you do with an advertiser, including anything you buy or any form you fill in, is between you and that advertiser.
A sold ad says “AD” and looks different from a date: a dashed border, no number and no countdown. A sponsor line says “Supported by”. Google ads will say “Advertisements”.
